CSA Haul: 2010-08-26
We've just joined a local CSA (Small Farms, run by the Love is Love farm). I've decided to keep track of how much we get of what, just because I like taking pictures and making lists. :)
Updates: Don't put cowpeas in the refrigerator in a plastic bag, as it will hold in the moisture and they will go bad! Instead, leave them out (maybe in a paper bag) and they'll dry out a bit and be easier to shell.
The purple sweet peppers are somewhat bitter when raw, but a light sauteeing or parboiling fixes this. Of course, I should probably be thinking of what to combine with this bitterness (goat or feta cheese) to make it fun.
